Annual Report

I feel immense pleasure in presenting the third annual report of SBDS Group of Colleges, situated at Pahuwind, the historic birth place of the great Sikh Saint Soldier Shaheed Baba Deep Singh Ji. Since inception, under the aegis of SBDS Trust, three institutes namely SBDS Sr. Sec. School (Affiliated to PSEB), Radiance Polytechnic (Affiliated to PSBTE & IT and AICTE) and SBDS College (Affiliated to GNDU, Amritsar) have made tremendous progress. I feel honored in highlighting the excellent and commendable achievements of the students in academics, sports, social and cultural fields.

Academic Achievements:-

• Pass %age of B.A., B.C.A. and all Diploma Classes is the highest in Tarn Taran Distt.
• Ms. Sukhmanpreet Kaur, B.C.A.-II, stood 1st in Tarn Taran Distt. during G.N.D.U March 2012 exams.
• Rajwinder Kaur, CSE-IInd Semester, stood 1st in Punjab in Computer Engg.
• Sumandeep Kaur,CSE-IInd Semester, stood 2nd  in Punjab in Computer Engg.

Sports Achievements:-

• SBDS College is the winner of G.N.D.U Inter-College Cross country (men) ‘B’ Division Championship.
• Harjit Singh, B.A.-I, stood 1st in 5 Km. race and 2nd in 10 Km. race in Inter-College G.N.D.U competition.
• Manjinder Singh, B.A.-I, stood 3rd in half marathon in Inter-College G.N.D.U competition.
• Kanwaljit Kaur, B.A.-I, stood 3rd in hurdles in Inter-College G.N.D.U competition.
• 4x4 Relay team (men) won 3rd position in Inter-College G.N.D.U competition. 
• Harjit Singh, B.A.-I and Dilbag Singh, B.A.-I, represented G.N.D.U, Amritsar in All India Inter-University Cross country Championship.
• Jeevanjit, ME, got 1st position in Official India Open International Table Soccer Championship 2012.
• Basketball ground of International Standard is available in Campus.
• Athletic track of 400 meters is also available in Campus.
• Free coaching and free diet for outstanding Sports persons.
• In inter-polytechnic state level volleyball competition , Radiance Polytechnic volleyball team got third position

Extra Curricular Activities:-

• Mandeep Kaur , BCA 3rd year got second prize in poster- making contest at district level competition organized by Punjab legal Awareness Authority

Educational Tours:-

• BA 3rd year students visited the Golden Temple, Jallianwala Bagh and Maharaja Ranjit Singh Panorama at Amritsar.
• The students of Computer Engineering and Civil Engineering visited Smt. Pushpa Gujral Science City, Kapurthala.

Social Activities:-

• Free Eye camp was organized in the campus in collaboration with the famous Vassan Eye Care Hospital, Mall road, Amritsar. Free medicines were distributed among the patients.
• A Blood donation camp was also organized in the campus in collaboration with HDFC bank.

Placement News:-

• Kochhar InfoTech Amritsar, visited the campus and shortlisted 23 students from BCA, BA, ME,Civil Engg.,Computer Engg. and ECE.
• Larsen and Toubro has also shortlisted 5 students of Mechanical Engg. of Radiance polytechnic.
• TATA Motors Amritsar also visited the campus and shortlisted 5 Students of Mechanical Engg.
• Swani Motors Amritsar has also visited the campus for the recruitment purpose. They shortlisted the deserving candidates.

Future Projects:-

• To provide cheap and affordable healthcare, SBDS Trust is going to establish  S. Bhupinder Singh Charitable Hospital at Pahuwind. This Multi-speciality hospital will provide cheap health services in medicine, gynae, ortho,ultrasound , X-ray , Surgery, dental and emergency at “No Profit Basis”.
• Radiance Institute of Nursing is also coming up shortly to provide ANM and GNM nursing courses.
